Since 1969, the Yokefellow Prison Ministry has been a volunteer based organization. Our volunteers visit prison facilities, residential reentry facilities, partner churches, and utilize Zoom to hold Yokefellow meetings. These meetings vary in day of the week and time depending on the facility.
Yokefellow Meetings are not a typical Bible study – many volunteers do not bring Bibles into the facilities with them and there is no “lesson plan” or agenda of what is to be covered during a meeting. Yokefellow is an active listening ministry and it is our goal to meet the participants where they are and to hear what is on their heart.
Yokefellow Prison Ministry volunteers are a diverse group of men and women of all ages and backgrounds. Some of our volunteers have formal ministry training, however, most do not. The only requirement to being a Yokefellow volunteer is that you love God and you love God’s people.
If you are interested in becoming a Yokefellow Prison Ministry volunteer please complete a Volunteer Application. You can find out more information about the Volunteer Application and Training Process here:
