What Can I Expect at a Virtual Aftercare Meeting?

Yokefellow Virtual Aftercare meetings function the same as Yokefellow meetings in a prison, with a focus on building trusting relationships through listening, caring, and encouraging. Meetings begin with all volunteers and attendees gathered together for a welcome and opening prayer. Volunteers and attendees are then divided into breakout rooms for small group discussions. Attendees select the topic of discussion, with Yokefellow volunteers listening and providing support & encouragement. Shortly before 8:30 p.m., volunteers and attendees come back into one large group for a closing prayer and dismissal.

Can I Attend a Virtual Aftercare Meeting Anonymously?

Yes. If you attend using a computer or smart phone, you can log in without turning on the video. You can also choose to write an alias for your name, if desired. If you have trouble figuring out how to change your display name, ask the Local Coordinator/meeting host to change it for you. If dialing in by phone, your phone number will initially display, but the Local Coordinator will change your display name for you.
